From an inaugural meeting in January 2015 UKIP have made tremendous strides forward in the brief time to date, building on the creditable performance in the 2015 Election where our candidate Rhys Burriss gained more than 7,000 votes, and following the epic Brexit victory where we believe that locally and Nationally UKIP played a vital role in convincing people that the future of our country lay in our own hands and not those of Brussels bureaucrats.
We were therefore delighted at the number of people prepared to dedicate their lives working for other local people in their area through the representative body Durham County Council. It is only hoped that people within their wards appreciate how our candidates will work hard on their behalf, not bound by any Party whips or directives but working solely for the benefit of the people. The work starts here with each candidate having their election packs from DCC allowing them to collect their 10 nominees and plan the way they are to communicate their intent to the electorate. There is hard work ahead for all of us, designing and printing leaflets, before distributing them alongside introducing ourselves on the doorstep to our potential supporters on election day.
