Unprecedented and Defining Times

After a disastrous year since the EU referendum, started by the departure of our ex leader Nigel Farage and compounded by the failure of new leaders subsequently elected, culminating in our share of votes at the 2017 General Election plummeting to around 2%, we now face a critical new Leadership Election.

The candidates declared to 4th Aug are as follows, but vetting is continuing until 11th August :-

• David Allen
• Henry Bolton
• David Coburn
• Jane Collins
• David Kurten
• Marion Mason
• Aidan Powlesland
• John Rees-Evans
• Ben Walker
• Anne Marie Waters
• Peter Whittle

The most controversial of the candidates is Anne Marie Waters who armed with a full and comprehensive policy and with a background of campaigning against Sharia Law has brought many new enthusiastic members to the party some of whom are suspected of being sympathisers of our proscribed organisations the English Defence League and BNP.

UKIP have set up an independent vetting procedure which is seen by some as an attempt to exclude Anne Marie whilst keeping the decision itself at arms length (some say the terms of reference for this independent vetting procedure may have been tailored to facilitate this exclusion). However, feelings within grass roots members expressed through social media on the balance support letting members themselves decide through the leadership election ballot box.

All we ask all our members is do your own research on every candidate before putting your X on the ballot paper and this LINK may be a useful starting ppoint.
