Barnard Castle Market Day

Our second day on Barnard Castle Market Place was thanks to better weather a more enjoyable day, but this time it was not holiday week and so the stand visitors were maninly locals with not so many tourists. Like the first event we used a ball poll to allow passers by to participate in a practice referendum and this point of interest generated conversations and discussions.

We advised the Teesdale Mercury of our presence again and whilst in the town procured a copy of the previous Mercury with a report from the first event.

As can be seen from the image above, the results were spectacularly in favour of Brexit, even more so than the first informal poll three weeks before. The change was significantly different to speculate what had caused the shift away from the remain camp, with one possibility being the literature that we had distributed three weeks earlier, but listening to people that we invited to vote revealed that a Major factor was the recently received leaflet from the Prime Minister which many said they had marked "return to sender" and reposted.
